Epona Plays (Australia) Wins The Group 2 Lanwades Stud Stakes At The Curragh

Daughter Of Australia Strides Clear To Group 2 Glory

Epona Plays (4f Australia - New Plays, by Ontario) recorded her third Group success on Saturday when running out an impressive winner of the Lanwades Stud Stakes at the Curragh.

Willie McCreery’s charge led from early-on in the Group 2 contest and was travelling well with a two length advantage at the three furlong marker. Pushed to quicken a furlong later, she raced further clear inside the final furlong to score by four lengths from Soul Search (Zoffany) in second and Too Soon To Panic (Gleneagles) in third.

Epona Plays has provided owner/breeder Renzo Forni with many memorable days, having claimed prize money on all but one of her starts. The daughter of Australia is a half-sister to Group 3 winner Dolce Strega (Zoffany).
