Daughter Of Gleneagles Storms To Group 3 Victory

Silence Please (5m Gleneagles - Crazy Volume, by Machiavellian) gained a second Stakes success when running out an ultra-impressive winner of the Group 3 Silbernes Pferd at Hoppegarten.

Racing last of nine for much of the mile and seven furlong test, the Andreas Wohler-trained mare was asked to quicken approaching the two furlong marker. Nerium (Camelot) boasted a four length advantage a furlong later, but Silence Please bore down strongly to lead inside the final 110 yards and powered on to win by five lengths. The pair finished seven lengths clear of the field.

The Team Valor-owned winner was making her first start for Wohler, having begun her career with Jessica Harrington, for whom she won her first three starts, including at Listed level. Later fourth in the Group 1 Preis der Diana, the daughter of Gleneagles becomes the second Group winner bred by Lynch Bages and Camas Park Stud out of Crazy Volume. Half-brother Gallante (Montjeu) triumphed at the highest level in France and Australia, while Party House (Camelot) went close in the Group 3 Italian St Leger earlier this month.
