€260,000 Australia colt on top at Goffs
Day two of the Goffs November Sale was headed by a second-crop son of the brilliant Australia, who realised €260,000.
A half-brother to the Leopardstown maiden winner Sarocchi (2f Galileo-Thai Haku, by Oasis Dream), he was offered from Garrenlea Stud and sold to Philipp Stauffenberg.
"He's been bought for a new client," said Stauffenberg. "He'll probably be kept to race rather than come back for resale. I thought Australia produced some really good-looking stock this year, and it will be interesting to see how they do on the track.”
Australia’s first yearlings have proved a great hit at the sales in recent weeks, not least this colt’s full-brother, who was bought for 380,000gns by John and Jake Warren at Tattersalls in October.
Australia is standing for €35,000 in 2018.
