Exciting Gleneagles Colt Extends Unbeaten Record

The Andre Fabre-trained Measure Of Time (3c Gleneagles – Inch Perfect, by Theatrical) made it two from two when making a winning three-year-old return in the Prix des Orfevres at Clairefontaine.

Successful on his sole start as a two-year-old, the son of Gleneagles was sent off favourite for the mile and a half contest. Pierre-Charles Boudot settled the bay towards the back of the field, quickening with his rivals approaching the home turn and was ridden towards the stands’ rail in the straight. Leading from the two furlong point, he was ridden out to win by three and a half lengths in comfortable fashion.

A step up in class may now be on the cards for Measure Of Time, who holds entries in the Group 1 Prix du Jockey Club and Grand Prix de Paris. Owned by Mrs John Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith, he comes from the first crop of Gleneagles, who is represented by Royal Dornoch in Saturday's 2,000 Guineas.
