Gleneagles Colt Delivers For Prescott
A step up in trip saw short-priced favourite Glen Force (3c Gleneagles - Lethal Quality, by Elusive Quality) gain a deserved maiden success at Thirsk on Wednesday.
Placed on all of his previous starts, the Sir Mark Prescott-trained colt stepped up to a mile for the first time on Wednesday. He raced prominently under Ryan Tate, leading from before halfway and was pushed along with over three furlongs left to race. Keeping on well, he won by a length from the well-bred Wondrous Words.
Owned by G.C. Woodall and partners, Glen Force was purchased for €160,000 as a yearling and is a half-brother to two black-type performers. He was bred by the Irish National Stud and hails from the first crop of top-class miler Gleneagles.
