Silence Please (Gleneagles) After Winning The Listed Salsabil Stakes at Navan

Gleneagles Filly Adds Listed Win To Unbeaten Record

Silence Please (3f Gleneagles - Crazy Volume, by Machiavellian) produced a late challenge to land Wednesday’s Listed Salsabil Stakes at Navan, extending her unbeaten record to three from three.

Successful on debut in July, the Jessica Harrington-trained filly followed up on her next start in September and stepped up in trip to ten furlongs on her three-year-old return. Tom Madden rode her towards the back of the field, switching out at the two furlong marker and rode her into third entering the final furlong. Running on well, she denied stablemate One Voice by a nose on the line.

Speaking after the race, Tom Madden said, “Silence Please has turned into a grand filly, she has done very well over the winter. This filly is tough and genuine. The race panned out well and she came home really well. It was only her third run and it could be an exciting year with her.”

Purchased by Team Valor and Gary Barber after her debut success, Silence Please was bred by Lynch Bages and Camas Park Stud. A half-sister to Australian Group 1 winner Gallante (Montjeu), she becomes the fourth individual Stakes winner from the first crop of Gleneagles.
