Gleneagles Filly Beats The Boys For Maiden Win
The winners continue to stream in for Gleneagles and Typewriter (2f Gleneagles - On Location, by Street Cry) became the latest addition when justifying favouritism in Tuesday’s Novice Stakes at Nottingham.
The sole filly in the field, Andrew Balding’s charge chased the leaders for much of the mile trip and was asked to quicken from three furlongs out. Ridden to lead inside the final furlong, she kept on well to win by a length under David Probert, with the runner-up drawing two and a half lengths clear of the field.
Owned by Mrs Fitri Hay, Typewriter had finished a promising fourth on both her previous starts, which had come over shorter trips. The daughter of Gleneagles was bred by Castlefarm Stud and provides a timely update for her yearling full-sister.
