Gleneagles Filly Makes All To Maiden Victory

Value Theory (2f Gleneagles - Venetian Beauty, by Lear Fan) built on a promising debut to run out a stylish winner of Saturday’s novice stakes at Newmarket.

Third over the same trip of seven furlongs last month, the Mark Johnston-trained chesnut was sent off favourite under Joe Fanning, who rode her to make all. Shaken up passing the two furlong pole, she was ridden to go clear inside the final furlong and led by two and a half lengths on the line.

Connections later earmarked the Sweet Solera Stakes as a potential target for the Dr J Walker-owned winner. Bred by Chris and James McHale, the daughter of Gleneagles is a half-sister to the talented Vengeur Masque.
