Gleneagles Filly Proves Herself Against Talented Rivals
The improving Loire (3f Gleneagles - Lana Girl, by Arch) rallied bravely to get off the mark in a competitive contest at Cholet on Wednesday afternoon.
Third on her two of her three previous starts, the bay faced six previous winners in the Class 2 race over nine and a half furlongs. Racing prominently throughout under Quentin Perrette, she quickened into the straight and was ridden out to prevail a length on the line.
Owned by Sun Bloodstock, the daughter of Gleneagles was bought as a yearling for €85,000. The half-sister to three-time Group winner Rise High was bred by Madame Marie-Claude Biaudis.
