Gleneagles Filly Quickens Clear To Maiden Victory
A step up in trip brought out the best in Mayfair Stroll (2f Gleneagles - Zadalla, by Zaha) on Wednesday, as the improving filly ran out a clear winner over seven furlongs at Lingfield.
The Charlie Hills-trained bay ran on well to claim second last time out over six furlongs and was sent off favourite to go one better under Kieran Shoemark. Chasing the leader for much of the way, she was pushed along to lead approaching the final furlong and soon went clear. Eased down close home, she won by four lengths.
Owned by Chelsea Thoroughbreds, J Lindop and M Murphy, Mayfair Stroll was bred by Anthony Hanahoe and Richard Copeland. The daughter of Gleneagles is a half-sister to Master The World (Mastercraftsman), who progressed into a three-time Listed winner as a six and seven-year-old.
