Gleneagles Filly Shows Clean Pair Of Heels At Windsor
Aveta (3f Gleneagles - Embiyra, by Tamayuz) built on a promising debut to run out a smart winner of the fillies’ maiden at Windsor on Monday evening.
The Ralph Beckett-trained bay ran a promising race on her sole two-year-old start and remained over the mile trip on her three-year-old return. Racing in midfield under Rossa Ryna, she made headway to chase the leaders approaching two furlongs out and was ridden to lead before the final furlong. Running on strongly, she was eased close home to win by five lengths.
Owned by Mrs Lynn Turner and Guy Brook, Aveta is the first foal out of Embiyra, who was bought for 260,000gns when carrying the daughter of Gleneagles. Bred by Samuel De Barros, she hails from the Aga Khan family of Enzeli and Estimate.
