Gleneagles Newcomer Impresses At Saint Cloud
Mirabad (2c Gleneagles - Mila, by Cape Cross) shaped like a smart prospect when running out a commanding winner of the Prix Antivari at Saint Cloud on Sunday.
Sent off second favourite for the seven and a half furlong contest, the Mickael Delzangles-trained newcomer raced towards the back of the field under Christophe Soumillon and swept wide to chase the leaders entering the straight. Ridden from two furlongs out, the bay soon led and required minimal encouragement to draw three lengths clear on the line.
There should be plenty more to come from the Aga Khan homebred, whose dam Mila landed a Listed contest as a three-year-old.
