Dornoch Castle (Gleneagles) Makes It Two From Two at Ayr

Impressive Gleneagles Colt Extends Unbeaten Record

Dornoch Castle (2c Gleneagles - Crown Light, by Zamindar) made it two from two with another impressive performance at Ayr on Monday.

Charlie and Mark Johnston’s charge eased clear on debut last month and with a winner having since emerged from that race, was sent off favourite to follow up under a penalty. The chesnut made all in the seven furlong novice stakes and was shaken up to extend his advantage approaching the two furlong pole. Pushed out inside the final furlong, he scored by two and a quarter lengths under Cieran Fallon.

Owned by John Brown and Megan Dennis, Dornoch Castle may now step up in class and holds an entry in the Group 1 Vincent O’Brien National Stakes later in the year. The exciting son of Gleneagles was bred by Tinnakill Bloodstock and Ian Thompson.
