Lajoscha (Gleneagles) Wins The Listed Grand Prix Du Nord At Chantilly

Impressive Listed Winner For In Form Gleneagles

Lajoscha (3c Gleneagles - Lady Linda, by Torrential) left his rivals to fight for placings as he drew six lengths clear to win the Listed Grand Prix du Nord at Chantilly on Tuesday.

The Litex Commerce homebred impressed on debut in August, when he scored by 15 lengths at Cologne, and brought his record to two wins from three starts last month. Dropping back to ten furlongs on Tuesday, the Miltcho Mintchev-trained bay was ridden to lead by Michael Cadeddu and was pushed along from two furlongs out. Running on strongly approaching the final furlong, he was eased down close home to win unchallenged.

Lajoscha’s impressive victory is timely, as he is catalogued to sell as part of a dispersal at the Arqana Deauville Autumn Sale later this month. The half-brother to German Oaks heroine Penelopa continues a successful few days for his sire Gleneagles, with Eagles Flight (Gleneagles) having sold for €100,000 on Monday. Offered by Copper Beech Stables, John Connaughton’s three-time winner was knocked down to Brouder Racing.
