Lots To Like About Latest Winner By Gleneagles
The Joseph O’Brien-trained Seisai (2f Gleneagles - Lillebonne, by Danehill Dancer) shaped like a smart prospect when justifying favouritism in the Bennettsbridge Fillies Maiden at Gowran Park.
The Simon Munir and Isaac Souede owned bay caught the eye on debut last month, when keeping on well into third in a Leopardstown maiden, and was ridden by Shane Crosse once again on Monday. Asserting with ease two furlongs from home, she was shaken up inside the final furlong and kept on well to win by a length and a quarter.
“She did it very well in the end,” Crosse commented after the race.“She's a half-sister to recent Listed winner Magnanimous and hopefully she can go in the same direction as him.”
Seisai has clearly impressed at home, given that she holds an entry in the Group 2 Airlie Stud Stakes later this month. The daughter of Gleneagles was bred by Peter Henley, John Connolly and Pattern Bloodstock.
