Newcomer Adds To Gleneagles’ Honour Roll
The first crop winners continue to roll in for Gleneagles, as the Wido Neuroth-trained Nordic (2c Gleneagles - Norwegian Pride, by Diktat) made a winning debut on Thursday, just a day after his sire celebrated a smart maiden double.
The chesnut colt debuted over the minimum distance at Ovrevoll and registered a winning margin of two and a half lengths, with another four and a quarter lengths back to the third horse.
A €150,000 yearling buy by Peter and Ross Doyle at Baden-Baden, he was one of two runners in the race for top owners Stall Perlen, whose other representative finished fourth. A half-brother to three Stakes winners, Nordic was bred by Gestut Brummerhof out of Listed winner Norwegian Pride.
