Order Of Australia Lands Major Prize In Qatar
Order Of Australia (6h Australia - Senta’s Dream, by Danehill) secured a valuable prize when returning to winning ways in the Group 2 Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Cup at Doha.
Returning to the mile trip of his Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup success, the Aidan O’Brien-trained entire led from the early stages and was asked to quicken from three furlongs out. Driven a furlong later, he ran on well to deny his nearest challenger by half a length on the line, while Conflict (No Nay Never) took third.
Speaking after the race, winning rider Ryan Moore said, “He's a class horse on his day as a Breeders' Cup Mile winner and it's nice for him to get back on track. He's probably going to improve for the run.”
Saturday marked a second top-flight success for Order Of Australia, who has also won a pair of Group 2 races and been placed at Group 1 level on five occasions. Owned by Derrick Smith, Mrs John Magnier, Michael Tabor and Mrs Anne Marie O’Brien, the son of Australia is a half-brother to Group 1 winners Iridessa and Santa Barbara (Camelot). The talented trio were bred by Whisperview Trading out of Senta’s Dream (Danehill).
