Order Of Australia (Australia) Wins The Gr.1 Breeders' Cup Mile at Keeneland

Order Of Australia Leads Home Ballydoyle 1-2-3 in BC Mile

Order Of Australia (3c Australia - Senta’s Dream, by Danehill) flourished on a drop down in trip to lead home a 1-2-3 for Ballydoyle in Saturday’s Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Mile at Keeneland.

Fourth in the Irish Derby earlier this season, the son of Australia had since won over ten and twelve furlongs, but showed plenty of pace under Pierre-Charles Boudot on his latest start. Racing in touch, he was ridden to make headway from two furlongs later and led inside the final furlong, running on well to deny stablemate Circus Maximus (Galileo) by a neck, as Lope Y Fernandez stayed on for third.

Speaking after the race, the winning rider said, “Aidan told me before the race that he was a special horse for the mile and he was confident of a good run on a small track. He did very well and the trip was perfect. The draw in 14 was difficult, but I took a nice place behind the leaders and he had a nice turn of foot.”

Order Of Australia is owned by Derrick Smith, Mrs John Magnier, Michael Tabor and Mrs Anne Marie O’Brien, the latter also breeding the colt under the banner of Whisperview Trading. A three-parts brother to fellow breeder’s Cup winner Iridessa, he becomes a second Group/Grade 1 winner this season by Australia, following Galileo Chrome’s victory in the St Leger.
