Promising Juvenile Continues Fine Run For Gleneagles

Flippin’ Eck (2c Gleneagles - Sweet Serendipity, by Stimulation) ran down the even-money favourite to get off the mark in Saturday’s six furlong novice stakes at Redcar.

A close third earlier this month, the Tim Easterby-trained bay was well-supported in the market, despite facing the aforementioned Mahagoni, a smart maiden winner.

Racing close to the pace under David Allan, he switched right to challenge two furlongs from home and made good headway to lead inside the final furlong. Running on well, he beat the market leader by half a length on the line.

Owned by Nick Rhodes and partner, Flippin’ Eck was bred by Allun Douch, who has a yearling full-sister to the winner. He continues a terrific week for Gleneagles, following the Loving Dream’s Royal Ascot win in the Group 2 Ribblesdale Stakes.
