Promising Son Of Gleneagles Goes One Better
Emblem Empire (3c Gleneagles - Hurricane Emma, by Mr Greeley) built on a promising debut to justify favouritism in the ten furlong Novice Stakes at Lingfield on Tuesday afternoon.
The John Gosden-trained chesnut ran on well to finish second over a mile last month and was reunited with Robert Havlin to go one better on Tuesday. Chasing the leader for much of the way, he was pushed along to lead approaching the two furlong marker and soon led. Ridden out, he kept on well to score by three parts of a length.
Owned by A Albawardi, Emblem Empire was bred by MG White Ltd and provides an important update for his brother by Churchill, who sells at next month’s Tattersalls Book 1 Sale.
