Sensational Season For Australia Reflected At Tattersalls

The effect of Australia’s terrific season was felt at Tattersalls on Friday, where an Australia filly offered by Tinnakill House fetched 140,000gns from bloodstock agent Justin Casse.

Chesnut like her sire, Lot 1001 is a half-sister to four Stakes horses, including talented stayer Desert Skyline, out of the Group 2 winning mare Diamond Tango.

It marked a second six-figure sale of the week for Australia, with a colt offered as Lot 789 from Ringfort Stud having been knocked down to Peter and Ross Doyle for 125,000gns. A late April foal, the colt is a half-brother to Group 2 Vintage Stakes third Youth Spirit (Camelot), out of a half-sister to Stakes winners Blaine and Bogart.

Dual Derby winner Australia was responsible for two Group/Grade 1 winners this season, with Galileo Chrome having captured the St Leger at Doncaster, while Order Of Australia triumphed in the Breeders’ Cup Mile.
