Earth Dance (Australia) Wins His Maiden At Navan

Son Of Australia Waltzes Clear To Maiden Victory

Earth Dance (3g Australia - Jamrah, by Danehill) built on a promising debut to run out a stylish winner of Saturday’s ten furlong maiden at Navan.

Donnacha O’Brien’s charge shaped like a smart prospect in a Curragh maiden last month, as he finished third with a Group-placed favourite in second. Sent off favourite himself at the weekend, the son of Australia travelled strongly throughout under Gavin Ryan and improved to challenge two furlongs from home. Ridden to lead approaching the final furlong, he ran on well to win by three lengths, going away. Guinevere’s Spirit (Camelot) produced an eye-catching debut to finish second, while the promising Tommy Thug (Churchill) kept on for third.

Speaking after the race, the winning rider said, “Earth Dance has taken a little bit of time to come to hand but we always thought he was a nice horse. I got a lovely lead and once I committed I didn't have to be hard on him. He'll get further too.”

Earth Dance was bred by Mrs Ann Marie O’Brien, who owns the winner with Mrs John Magnier and Michael Tabor.
