Son Of Gleneagles Goes One Better In Chelmsford Maiden
It was a case of third time lucky for Glen Again (3c Gleneagles - Four Eleven, by Arch) on Monday, as the two-time runner-up got off the mark in the ten furlong maiden at Chelmsford.
Mark Johnston’s charge was sent off favourite under Franny Norton, who rode the bay in a prominent position and pushed him to lead from over two furlongs out. Yankee Stadium (Galileo) produced a strong challenge approaching the final furlong, but Glen Again kept on well to score by three parts of a length.
Owned by Teme Valley, the son of Gleneagles was bred by Knockainey Stud and is a full-brother to another winner in L’Aigle (Gleneagles). Their dam, Four Eleven, has a two-year-old from the first crop of Highland Reel which fetched 110,000gns at the yearling sales.
