Son Of Gleneagles Justifies Support On Debut

Southwold (3g Gleneagles - Intrigue, by Fastnet Rock) justified strong market support to make a winning debut in Tuesday’s Novice Stakes at Newcastle.

Daniel and Claire Kubler’s charge was the sole newcomer to line up for the mile contest and was sent off second favourite under Tom Eaves. Ridden to chase the leader, he led approaching the final furlong and was ridden out to score by a length and a quarter.

Southwold is owned and bred by Mr and Mrs Middlebrook, who also raced his dam Intrigue (Fastnet Rock) to win a maiden.
