Son Of Gleneagles Proves A Class Above

Thursday saw Finely Tuned (3g Gleneagles - Turning Top, by Pivotal) comfortably justify favoritism in the mile and a half Novice Stakes at Ripon.

Ridden prominently by William Buick, the bay was shaken up to lead four furlongs from home and went clear entering the final furlong. The winning margin was three and a half lengths, with the rest of the field strung out behind the second.

Trained by Simon and Ed Crisford, the son of Gleneagles had previously been placed on three occasions. The Coolmore homebred becomes the second winner out of Grade 3 winner Turning Top.
