Well Bred Son Of Australia Races Clear To Maiden Success

The Sir Michael Stoute-trained Crystal Pegasus (3c Australia - Crystal Etoile, by Dansili) ran out an impressive winner of the ten furlong Novice Stakes at Bath on Monday evening.

Runner-up on his two previous starts, Sir Evelyn De Rothschild’s homebred colt was sent off a short-priced favourite under William Buick. He tracked the leaders until asserting two furlongs from home and was shaken up to go clear approaching the final furlong, scoring by five and a half lengths on the line.

Closely related to black-type performer Crystal Hope, Crystal Pegasus is out of Crystal Etoile, herself a half-sister to top-class racehorse Crystal Ocean, who covered his first book of mares at The Beeches Stud this season.
