It was a huge result for American Pharoah’s Space Waltz (3c American Pharoah x Harajuku, by Deep Impact) on Saturday evening at the Arqana Arc Sale when Ace Stud went to €1.15 million to make him the second highest priced offering of the sale. Offered by A&L Fabre, the Group 3 winning Space Waltz has placed in four stakes in his career for six top two placings in eight starts, led by the Gr.3 Prix du Lys. The colt added a big update to his record when he placed second in the Gr.2 Prix Chaundenay at Longchamp just hours before the sale for breeder and former owner Flaxman Stables. Space Waltz is the first foal out of Group 3 winner Harajuku, who is one of two group winners out of Phaenomena alongside Group 2 winner King of Koji. Phaenomena is a full sister to the Group 1 winning Nightime, who produced multiple Group 1 winner Ghaiyyath and Group 1 winner Zhukova – who herself is the dam of Group 1 winner Imperial Emperor. Space Waltz holds an entry in the Gr.1 Prix Royal Oak at the end of the month as well. It has been a huge two days for American Pharoah who saw two of his daughters win Grade 2s at Belmont Park to earn Breeders’ Cup berths in the Gr.1 Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf and Gr.1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf.
