Seeing his first crop sell for up to $725,000 at this year’s yearling sales, Gunite is set to go out with a bang at this year’s yearling sales with 27 on offer at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearlings Sale. Gunite’s Hip 227 selling on Monday with Machmer Hall Sales is a half-brother to the stakes winning Unified Alliance. [embed]https://vimeo.com/1233339892[/embed] Unified Alliance kicks off the blacktype form seen throughout the Calvin and Shane Crain-bred offering with blacktype under every dam. Dam Star Power’s half-sister is the dam of Grade 3-placed Third Beer with her dam Sequel a full sister to the Grade 1 winning A.P. Adventure. Sequel is also a half-sister to the stakes winning Platinum and to the dam of stakes winner Tashir. Rounding out the page is Grade 2 winner Super Mario. Breeder Mullholland Springs is offering Hip 349, a daughter of stakes winner Tiger Cat Lilly, on Monday. [embed]https://vimeo.com/1234872334[/embed] The filly is a half-sister to stakes winner Liliesformillie and to the dam of the stakes placed Ghostly Spitfire with her half-sister a sixth-generation stakes producer. Tiger Cat Lilly isn’t the only stakes producer out of her dam Feisty Princess with her Grade 2 winning half-sister the dam of Grade 1 winner Wild Ruler and Grade 3 winner Pavitra. This family is solid throughout with Grade 1 winners Bodexpress and Influent named on the page. A daughter of Canadian Horse of the Year Sealy Hill is the dam of Legacy Bloodstock’s Hip 373. Bred by Milfer Farm in New York, this filly is out of Sealy Hill’s Tiznow daughter Touch of Grace. That mare is the dam of three winners from four to race, including a 2026 winner. Touch of Grace is a half-sister to six winners, led by multiple Grade 1 winner Cambier Parc, Canadian champion Hillaby, and two Grade 3 winners. Her half-sisters are also stakes producers with the five mares’ stakes horses including Justify’s stakes winning Resplendence and American Pharaoh’s Grade 3-placed Outrunner. The Fedamore Stable-offered Hip 672 comes into the ring with a very active pedigree. Already a Grade 3 winner and Grade 2-placed at three, Tiz Dashing won the Gr.3 Canadian Turf S. in February and provided another update in August with an Allowance Optional Claiming at Saratoga. This colt’s 3-year-old half-sister added her own blacktype to the page when finishing third in the Pea Patch S. in July. In all, this colt’s winning Into Mischief dam Breaking Beauty has produced three winners from four to race. She is a half-sister to the graded stakes winners Osidy and Quetsche and to the dam of Wootton Bassett’s stakes winning Wootton’sun. Hunter Valley Farm’s Hip 1409 is out of a very proven broodmare in the stakes placed Miss Henny Penny. Bred by Catherine Jennings and Daniel Mallory, this colt sold for $190,000 at last year’s Fasig-Tipton November sale and returns to that pavilion nearly a year later. His dam has produced seven winners from seven to race with the group including five-time stakes winner The Sky Is Falling, dual stakes winner Door Buster, and seven-time winner Ocean Lilly. Miss Henny Penny is a half-sister to the stakes placed Country Mamma and is a granddaughter of a half-sister to the Grade 1 winning Super Diamond. The Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearlings Sale takes place from October 19 – 22 with each session starting at 10:00am. You can find all of Gunite’s cataloged offerings here.
