Jack Christopher’s stakes placed One Number (2c Jack Christopher x Ghostinhim, by Ghostzapper) went off as favorite at Lingfield on Thursday and rewarded backers in a big way with a 4 ½ length victory. Proving to be much the best from the start of the one-mile all-weather race the colt went straight to the lead and controlled the pace. David Probert didn’t start asking his mount for anything until the final furlong and One Number extended his lead from there with only one horse within 11 ½ lengths of him at the end. Trained by Joseph O’Brien for Munir, Souede, and MacLennan, One Number looks to be a talented sort after finishing third in the Listed Pat Smullen S. in June. This victory was his third top three start in five races. The First Row Partners-bred is out of Ghostinhim, who has two winners from three to race with her third runner also placed. The family also includes Grade 2 winner and Grade 1-placed Gotta Have Her and stakes winner Rastafara among others. Jack Christopher’s nine winners puts him in the top five among all North American sires by juvenile winners in 2026.
