Mission Central (3g No Nay Never - Thar She Blows, by Zoffany) continued an excellent afternoon for No Nay Never when landing Group 1 honours in the King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot on Tuesday. The three-year-old is unbeaten in three starts this term, having landed Listed wins at Naas in April and last month. He had also won the Group 3 Round Tower Stakes at the Curragh last August. Ridden by Ryan Moore, Mission Central was towards the rear over three furlongs out, and still had plenty to do with a furlong left to run, but came home powerfully to strike by a head. Aidan O’Brien said: “Mission Central is a very fast horse. He’s unbeaten this year and progressed with every run. They went hard, which suited him. In all his previous races, he’s very forward because they don't go very fast and he's got an awful lot of speed. “Ryan gave him a great ride. He obviously knew they were going really hard. He really motivated him inside the final furlong – incredible. A big team effort and delighted for everybody involved. He’s a horse who could suit The Everest at the end of the year, so he's a very exciting horse.” Moore added: “I thought I'd won, but it's always hard when you're so wide and far apart. Aidan can do anything, can't he? Mission Central is a progressive horse. They went hard, he got into a nice rhythm and he just landed there – it worked out beautifully.” Tom Magnier said: “It was very impressive what Mission Central did today. We’ve a slot in The Everest – it’s a great race and one we'd love to win. It would be great to think about it, but obviously it's up to Aidan. We will see how the horse pulls up, but it would definitely be a race you could put on the radar for him." Mission Central was bred by Gigginstown House Stud.
