Coolmore
Speckles (2f No Nay Never - Seventh Heaven, by Galileo) got off the mark with a game win at Leopardstown on Saturday. The Coolmore homebred had placed on two of her four previous starts, including when third in the Group 2 May Hill Stakes at Doncaster last time out, and she stepped forward to land a half-length success. Ridden by Wayne Lordan, the Ballydoyle-trained Speckles narrowly took up the lead at the halfway stage, being pressed from a furlong out but keeping on well inside the closing stages to fend off the challengers. Stable representative Chris Armstrong said: "She obviously had a couple of lovely runs coming into this, especially last time when she ran a nice race to get black type in the May Hill. "It's lovely to get a winning bracket now and we'll put her away now."
