Conciliate (2c St Mark’s Basilica - Declaring Love, by Dubawi) became the latest juvenile winner for his sire with a gritty score at Ayr on Sunday. The John Butler-trained colt had stepped forward from his initial outing to finish third at York last month. Making his third start at Ayr, Conciliate showed a fine attitude to defeat odds-on favourite Instant Force by a head. In third was Trumpety Trump (by Churchill). Ridden by Billy Loughnane, the son of St Mark’s Basilica led before being joined two furlongs out. He was headed inside the final furlong but battled back well to take up the lead towards the finish. Out of the Listed-winning Declaring Love, Conciliate was bred by Gigginstown House Stud.
