Towelontheterrace (2c Blackbeard - Abril, by Anabaa) became a new winner for his sire with a straightforward win at Chester on Friday. Trained by Jennie Candlish, Towelontheterrace finished a promising third at the track last month and he finished two places better on his second start with a length-and-three-quarters win in the hands of Jason Hart. Towelontheterrace made all and kept on well against the rail to win comfortably, becoming the ninth individual scorer for Blackbeard in the process. A half-brother to the Group-placed Abrantes, Towelontheterrace was bred by David Byrne and Pierce Molony.
