Zadawa (3f Camelot - Zawara, by Dubawi) got off the mark when running out a wide-margin winner at Galway on Tuesday. The Dermot Weld-trained filly had placed on her last two outings, including when a three-quarter length second at Cork last month. Ridden again by Chris Hayes, Zadawa settled in midfield before making good headway after three furlongs. The daughter of Camelot was going well when leading over two furlongs out and went clear inside the final furlong to strike by eight lengths from Hey Stella (by Camelot), with Possum (by Australia) in third. Weld said of the Aga Khan Studs homebred: “She did it well and had run a very good race when finishing second in Cork. "She stays well, loves a mile and four furlongs and the Bluebell Stakes at Naas has been on my mind for a while, and today won't change my mind. We'll decide on next year after Naas."
