Able Tasman (2c Australia - Antillia, by Red Ransom) got off the mark with a ready score at Bath on Saturday. The Archie Watson-trained colt had finished a promising third at Lingfield in May behind smart performer Sword Salute and he duly struck at the second attempt with a near two-length win in the hands of Jack Mitchell. Able Tasman was positioned prominently and was ridden over three furlongs out before leading over a furlong from home. He kept on to strike in a comfortable fashion. The two-year-old was bred by Glashare House Stud.
