Alpine Wedding (2f Sioux Nation - Wedding Dress, by Tamayuz) gained a deserved first win with a clear-cut score at Cork on Wednesday. The Paddy Twomey-trained filly had run well on her previous starts, finishing third at the Curragh on her second outing in July, as well as fifth in a Listed race at Cork last month. Ridden by Billy Lee, Alpine Wedding made all, going clear from a furlong out to strike by three and a quarter lengths. Twomey said: "She's rated 89 and I'd previously taken the scenic route with her. She was drawn wide at Gowran last week but the only reason I ran was because we were running out of Goffs bonus race options. Today's race was the final one and Paddy Hale [owner] worked with Goffs many years ago, so it was great to get €50,000 back." He added: "She's learning to race on the job and I think she's a classy filly who'll be a better three-year-old. "Billy [Lee] thought she could run again this season, no problem, and there are a few fillies' stakes races for her. She's also in the Goffs Million so that's a live option too."
