First-crop yearlings by No Nay Never’s champion two-year-old Little Big Bear were in strong demand at the Arqana October Yearling Sale this week, making prices of up to €200,000. The top-priced lot was offered by Haras de Saint Vincent and was bought by Mandore International’s Nicolas de Watrigant. The colt is out of the winning Mastercraftsman mare Serenity and the further family includes dual 1,000 Guineas heroine Winter. He said: "We've been looking for a good colt by Little Big Bear since the summer, and this was exactly the one I'd wanted to buy back in August. Unfortunately, he'd suffered a minor injury in his box here and couldn't be offered at the sale. "Even so, in terms of his physique and extraordinary maturity, he was clearly one of the best colts entered in the August Sale, just like his sire, whom I was fortunate enough to buy here in August for MV Magnier. Little Big Bear has an exceptional physique, and this colt has inherited many of his qualities. "I have tremendous faith in his sire, who passes on scope, precocity and exceptional movement to his offspring."
