Four-time Group 1 winner Paddington’s first yearlings were warmly received at Tattersalls Book 2 this week, with a well-related colt selling to Godolphin for 350,000gns. Offered by Car Colston Hall Stud, the bay is a half-brother to two stakes winners in Forest Of Dean and State Occasion, as well as recent Listed-placed Crown Of Oaks and the Group 2-placed Golden Crown. The page also includes Group or Grade 1 winners Crowded House, Brando, Tribalist and Ticker Tape. Car Colston Hall Stud manager Jonathon Smithers said: "She bred a good horse called Golden Crown who was by Siyouni so that links into Paddington, who's by Siyouni. She had been to a lot of proven sires in the past, so we decided to roll the dice with a first-season sire. "She's a very good mare. We could have gone to Book 1 with his colt, but we decided to be more of a standout this week – and all those updates have come too!" He added: "Since prep he has kicked into a different gear; he’s a real nice one and has gone down really well. He was entitled to sell well with his physical and out of such a good mare." Stroud Coleman Bloodstock went to 125,000gns for Clearwater Stud's half-sister to dual Group 3 winner Atzeco. The page includes Group 1 Coronation Stakes scorer Magic Of Life.
