Bengal Tiger (2c No Nay Never - On Ice, by Galileo) continued his fine run of form with a first Group success in the Horris Hill Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday. The neck victory over Lex Victoria (by Sioux Nation) came just a week after the Ballydoyle-trained colt’s first stakes success in the Listed Doncaster Stakes, where he pulled three and a half lengths clear of his rivals. Ridden by Sean Levey, the son of No Nay Never was positioned prominently and took up the lead over two furlongs out. The colt kept on well inside the final furlong to hold Lex Victoria at bay. Levey said: “I was surprised when she [Lex Victoria] loomed up. He's the sort of horse, typical of Aidan O’Brien’s, who always have a bit in reserve. They love a battle, they love a fight. “He just kept himself where he was, a lovely horse. It’s nice to see him go up through the trips and it looked like he wanted every yard of the seven today. He’s just a lovely type, a scopey type and one to look forward to next year. “As an older horse he might stretch out to a mile. It would be nice to see him over seven in a [Classic] trial.” Bengal Tiger was bred by the On Ice Partnership.
