Man's Best Friend (2c No Nay Never - Pandora, by Galileo) became the latest Group-winning juvenile for No Nay Never with victory in the Group 2 Richmond Stakes at Goodwood on Thursday. The Ballydoyle-trained colt had struck on his second outing at Naas this month and stepped up in style to score by a comfortable length in the hands of Ryan Moore. Man’s Best Friend was in touch with the leaders early on but was denied a clear run from two furlongs out. The son of No Nay Never responded gamely when in the clear and powered home to lead and win inside the final 110 yards. Aidan O’Brien said: “I’m delighted with him. The last day at Naas was only his second run and he’s a baby of a horse. We thought bringing him today was going to do him good, win, lose or draw, so he’s a lovely horse. “He’s out of a Galileo mare and he came here for experience really. Ryan thought he would get further, he thought he travelled well and he liked him. All options are open, he looks a Middle Park type of horse or the Gimcrack, so all those races are open to him. “Ryan said he had nowhere to go really through the whole race, but he liked him, he said he felt classy and that he’d get further. There’s a lot of options open to him, he could turn into a Dewhurst horse, who knows. He could be a nice colt.” Moore said: “Wayne [Lordan] said he liked him when he won at Naas there last week. He’s a fast horse with a beautiful pedigree. “He would have been an unlucky loser, luckily he got out just in time. He can only get better.
