Senorita Bonita (2f Starspangledbanner - Belicious, by Ruler Of The World) demonstrated her star quality when powering to an impressive win in the Group 1 Prix Morny at Deauville on Sunday. The 900,000gns Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up sale-topper in April, Senorita Bonita made a winning debut at Nottingham in April and followed up a valiant second to Victorious in the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot with an eye-catching score in the Group 2 Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes at Newmarket last month. The form was franked by Libertango’s (by No Nay Never) win in this week’s Group 2 Lowther Stakes at York. Trained by Simon and Ed Crisford and ridden by Oisin Murphy, Senorita Bonita was held up towards the rear of the field before making smooth headway. She showed a potent turn of foot to reel in long-time leader Carry The Flag (by No Nay Never) to strike by a widening four lengths. Simon Crisford said: "She has an amazing turn of foot. She was a bit slowly away and behind the bridle early but her turn of foot is electric and she finished off the race superbly well. She's a proper filly. "We'll head to the Cheveley Park and we'll face Sun Goddess and Libertango, and it will be one of the highlights of the autumn season. She has lots of talent and the world is her oyster. "Physically she doesn't look like a stayer but she's by a Ruler Of The World mare. We'll definitely try her over a mile next year." Senorita Bonita was bred by Hawes Stud and Churchtown House Stud.
