Darkness Falls (2c Camelot - You'resobeautiful, by No Nay Never) got off the mark in impressive fashion when running out a seven-length winner at the Curragh on Saturday. The Ballydoyle-trained colt was building on a promising debut third at Leopardstown last month to Green Dreamer (by Churchill). In striding out to a wide-margin win under Ryan Moore, the son of Camelot earned TDN Rising Star status. Darkness Falls was pestered for the lead but made all and went clear from two furlongs out to strike from another Camelot colt in Albany County. Aidan O'Brien said: “He had a lovely run the first day. He's a Camelot with a lot of class. He's a beautiful mover, so ground won't matter to him. When Ryan said ‘go', it was over very quickly. We thought he was good. “The maiden he ran in at Leopardstown was a very good race. We thought the second was very good, and the winner was just beaten in the Futurity. He's in the mix for the Golden Fleece at Leopardstown. That's why he ran again today.” Darkness Falls was bred by Lynch Bages.
