Man's Best Friend (2c No Nay Never - Pandora, by Galileo) improved from a promising debut effort to land his maiden win in fine style at Naas on Wednesday. The Ballydoyle-trained colt was fourth to stablemate Abraham Lincoln (by Wootton Bassett) on debut at the Curragh last month and he stepped up to win well under Wayne Lordan. Man's Best Friend made virtually all and, after facing a challenge, kept on inside the final furlong to win by two and a quarter lengths. In second was another son of No Nay Never in Zoar. Stable representative Chris Armstrong said: "He had a lovely run the first day and the race is working out nicely. In fairness, he’s a very professional colt. Wayne was delighted with him there. He's got a super attitude; a powerful, big strong horse. Wayne said he's comfortable at six [furlongs] but will have no problem going seven. "We'll see what Aidan wants to do with him. He's well entered up over six and seven over the coming weeks. He's one to look forward to. He'll have no problem stepping up into Group company next." Man's Best Friend was bred by Newstead Breeding.
