San Giorgio (2c St Mark’s Basilica - Endless Joy, by Showcasing) became the latest juvenile winner for St Mark’s Basilica with a game win at Clairefontaine on Saturday. Trained by Francis Graffard, San Giorgio was getting off the mark at the third attempt, having placed on his first two outings at Saint-Cloud in June. Ridden by Clement Lecoeuvre, the colt settled at the rear of the field before making headway turning into the home straight. He was ridden over to the stand side and kept on to score by half a length. In third was Quinte Flush Aas (by Golden Pal). San Giorgio was bred by Haras de la Perelle.
