Eyeconic (2f Starspangledbanner - Pussycat Eyes, by Churchill) got off the mark with a brave winning effort at Navan on Wednesday. The Fozzy Stack-trained filly was striking at the fourth attempt, ridden prominently by Seamie Heffernan and closing from two furlongs out. The two-year-old led inside the final furlong to win by a neck, holding on from the strong-finishing runner-up Spirit Of The Nite. Stack said: "It was a drop in class, as she ran well in the [Goffs] Million for a long way but didn't get home and petered out. "Hopefully, she'll make up into a nice sprinter and Seamie thought she's still a bit green. That's it for the season and I'd imagine we could get her going early next year, and see where we end up." Eyeconic was bred by Newstead Breeding.
