Missouri Waltz (2f Blackbeard - Fancy Vivid, by Galileo) became the latest first-crop winner for her sire with a comfortable debut score at Catterick on Wednesday. Trained by Adrian Keatley, Missouri Waltz was positioned prominently under Mikey Sheehy and the pair switched right before taking up the lead in the final 110 yards. The daughter of Blackbeard kept on to score by a length, with a further three lengths back to the third. A half-sister to the Group 3-winning Zihba, Missouri Waltz was bred by Mark and Caroline Hanly. The Mrs Paul Shanahan-owned filly is the 11th individual winner for dual Group 1-winning juvenile Blackbeard, his other promising winners including Edward Thatch, Sonny Parvenue, Towelontheterrace and Shi Yang.
