Coolmore
Chariots Of Fire (2c St Mark’s Basilica - Dixieland Kiss, by Dixie Union) made the perfect start to his career with a clear-cut debut win at Kempton on Wednesday. The Andrew Balding-trained colt settled behind the leaders in the hands of Oisin Murphy and the pair made stylish headway from a furlong out to stride clear of their rivals. Chariots Of Fire showed a fine turn of foot to win by a decisive two and a half lengths. A half-brother to Group 2 Lowther Stakes winner and Group 1-placed Besharah, Chariots Of Fire was bred by Coolmore. The colt looks another exciting prospect for his sire, who has sired two Guineas winners from his first crop in both hemispheres in recent Thousand Guineas scorer Saintly Dancer and dual French Classic winner Diamond Necklace.
