Aethelflaed (2f Saxon Warrior - Pivottina, by Vision D'Etat) gained her first win when readily striking at Deauville on Friday. The Stephane Wattel-trained filly had finished a promising second at Chantilly on her debut last month, beaten just three-quarters of a length by Shandiyana (by Camelot). Ridden by Theo Bachelot, Aethelflaed settled behind the leader and took up the lead in the final 300 metres, pulling clear to win by a comfortable two and a half lengths. Aethelflaed was bred by Eric Puerari.
