Moonrise (2f Churchill - Queen Of Silca, by Kingman) added a second Group-race win to her name with a clear-cut victory in the Group 3 Sirenia Stakes at Kempton on Saturday. The Ahmad Alkhallafi homebred had struck on debut over course and distance in May, winning by just over two lengths, before going on to finish a close second in the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Windsor behind King Of Cloughan (by St Mark’s Basilica). She stepped forward again to win the Group 3 Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot by a neck in July. Ridden again by Oisin Murphy, Moonrise made all and went clear to be unchallenged, striking by three and three-quarter lengths at the line. Murphy said: “She must be quite good because she had an outside draw and a 3lb penalty. She's better with a lead following horses as she can be a bit ‘in your hands', but Andrew’s done a great job with her. “She's improved with every start and that was a brilliant performance. She wants top of the ground really on turf and she's a very easy mover. Let's see now what Andrew wants to do next. “She's a sprinter and I don't think she needs to be going further, she's plenty of speed.”
