Bellesque (2f St Mark's Basilica - Belesta, by Xaar) became another second-crop winner for her sire with a comfortable win at Leopardstown on Thursday. The Joseph O’Brien-trained filly was second on her debut at the track this month and, stepping up to a mile, came home cosily in the hands of Dylan Browne McMonagle. Bellesque made all and was pushed out over a furlong out to win by three-quarters of a length from So Lovely, with Exceptionally, a half-sister to world champion and Derby winner City Of Troy, in third. O’Brien said: "She had a nice debut here last week and she did it well. I thought Dylan got to control the race lovely and she's a nice filly." Bellesque was bred by Rockhart Trading.
